If you’re going to throw the football, somebody better catch it.
Drops weren’t the only problem in last week’s 48-14 loss at North Carolina, but when the Illini are building a reputation, they need to excel at what they’re known for.
Passing. It is their salvation.
“We can’t afford those mistakes (nine drops) against Middle Tennessee,” said Illini coach Bill Cubit of today’s 3 p.m. home encounter.
“It’s not a time to panic, but it is certainly a time for urgency.”
No opponent believes the Illini can defeat them on the ground. Everybody has air-raid sirens blaring.
