Tate: Bandwagon filling up fast

Jason Heyward had consecutive two-RBI games early this week at Wrigley Field.

A somewhat-erratic slugger, he was a powerhouse down the stretch for St. Louis last year. He offers maturity to a youth-driven Cub regime that is taking the National League by storm.

Hey, hey, they’re on their way with an 8-2 start and a 38-run advantage in 10 outings ... despite Friday’s error-fest (a 6-1 loss to Colorado).

At 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, Heyward is an imposing figure and one of baseball’s imposing five-tool athletes. He does everything naturally except hit, and he’ll grind that out with muscle.
