How are Minnesota fans feeling these days about P.J. Fleck's program?
They're feeling better this week after the win over Indiana than last week after the blowout loss at Nebraska. But there's not a lot of patience with casual fans, and that's showing in attendance. Last Friday's game against Indiana, played on a cool, drizzly night, drew only 33,273, the smallest crowd ever at TCF Bank Stadium. Fans are looking for a breakthrough win, and the Gophers haven't provided that yet. Fleck is playing a lot of freshmen, especially on offense, and those players will take time to mature.
