In a little more than two months, Milwaukee point guard Te’Jon Lucas will start his collegiate career with John Groce’s Illini. His last trip to Champaign was forgettable, as he suffered a season-ending fracture to his right foot during a game against Centennial. Still, Lucas was named the Player of the Year in his conference after averaging 20.5 points, 7.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds. Lucas chatted with our Marcus Jackson about rehab, the future and the NCAA tournament:
How’s your recovery coming along?
It’s going well. I actually just got off the crutches and walking with a boot, and I start to rehab in about three weeks.
