Illinois basketball may be finished for the season, but Jack Rich isn’t tuning out from the upcoming NCAA tournament. The junior agriculture business major from Pontiac is also vice president of the Orange Krush, the UI hoops student support section. Copy editor Colin Likas caught up with Rich on Thursday — as Illinois was upsetting Iowa in the Big Ten tournament — to discuss the importance of the Krush, his favorite foe to jeer and his NCAA tourney favorite:
Why did you decide to come to the University of Illinois?
It really wasn’t a tough decision for me growing up an hour away from here.
