CHAMPAIGN — The official start to the 2016-17 season began this weekend. With incoming freshman Te’Jon Lucas arriving on campus Thursday night and other players making their way back after time away with family, the Illinois men’s basketball team was all together for the first time.
The Illini will meet today with the coaches. Monday marks the start of summer school and eight weeks of summer workouts.
Yet even as Illinois moves forward for 2016-17, there are lingering question marks — namely the more than a quarter of the team needing a checkup with the team doctor to determine exactly how much they can participate right away this summer.
