CHAMPAIGN — The consensus is pretty clear from Reggie Corbin's Illinois teammates. They want no part of the redshirt junior running back in the open field.
"You know he'll probably embarrass you on national TV," fellow running back Dre Brown said.
"He's made some people look pretty silly," redshirt senior offensive lineman Nick Allegretti said. "I'm pretty sure I'd have zero chance of tackling him in the open field."
Brown and Allegretti aren't wrong. Corbin's ability in the open field — the proverbial "juke someone in a phone booth" guy — has him within striking distance of the first 1,000-yard season at Illinois since Mikel Leshoure in 2010 with 952 yards and three games to play, including Saturday's 11 a.
