Sneak peek: UI's new home arena

While work is ongoing at State Farm Center in order to get the iconic venue in Champaign ready for Dec. 2 when the Illini host Notre Dame, work is taking place this morning at the Illini's other home arena this season.

Workers were laying the court, complete with the Lou Henson Court lettering and orange jacket honoring the Illini's all-time winningest coach, this morning at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, the site of the Illini's lone exhibition game against Illinois-Springfield on Nov. 8 before four regular-season games will take place in downtown Springfield.

It's the same court Illinois will play on later this season in Champaign when the next phase of renovation work at State Farm Center is complete.
