Other points of the six-year agreement, which could pay Smith up to $29 million:

— He'll receive $2 million each of the first two years of the contract, $3 million in the third, $4 million in the fourth and $5 million in years five and six.

— If he stays through the end of the third year of the contract — which would be the 2018 season, including the postseason — he will receive an additional $1 million.
