What's been the likely outcome for months is now official. A familiar voice will be the next public address announcer for Illini men's basketball.
That's Tim Sinclair, previously the back-up to hoops PA man Mike Cation. But with Cation stepping aside, Sinclair will become the full-time voice guiding the State Farm Center crowd through all the action. Sinclair said he plans to be enthusiastic but not to the point where fans are talking about him instead of the game.
Sinclair will work the men's basketball home games, including the Springfield games, and continue as the PA announcer for women's basketball.
