Illinois still has two open scholarships for the 2018-19 season and is in need of some frontcourt help.
The Illini might not even go the graduate transfer route, but beat writer SCOTT RICHEY highlights a few options before more might become available after June 11:
Malik Hines, UMass
Hines nearly tripled his scoring and doubled his rebounding efforts in 2017-18 for the Minutemen. The 6-foot-10, 255-pound forward averaged 9.0 points and 6.1 rebounds for UMass, as his role evolved from sparingly-used big man to full-time starter. An efficient scorer, Hines shot 65.8 percent from the fielding 73 percent at the free throw line.
