CHAMPAIGN — Kinnick Stadium is one Big Ten venue Nathan Scheelhaase didn’t play at during his distinguished career quarterbacking the Illini.
It’s a stadium he’s seen and heard about before, though, because his father, Nate Creer, played for the Hawkeyes in the 1980s.
But more work for Scheelhaase will ensue after Illinois plays Iowa on Saturday, with the 24-year-old Illinois running backs coach hitting the road for recruiting during the Illini’s lone off week this season.
“I have guys that I’m contacting weekly,” Scheelhaase said. “I’ll have places in the bye week where I’ll be headed.
