Winners of 14 of their last 18 games, the No. 23 Illini claimed their sixth straight series in league play behind a 5-3 win in Saturday's road finale at Michigan State.
The win also guaranteed Illinois (36-17, 15-9 Big Ten) the No. 3 seed in this week's Big Ten tournament.
Four runs scored on a trio of Illini home runs helped undo the Spartans (20-34, 8-15), who gave up a pair of solo shots to freshman Braden Comia.
