Two years ago, Ryan Pedon left his job as a full-time assistant at Toledo to take a job on John Groce’s staff at Illinois that didn’t allow him to coach players on the floor or recruit off campus. The move paid off for the former Illini special assistant to the head coach, who last month was named an assistant coach on Chris Holtmann’s staff at Butler. We caught up with the Columbus, Ohio, native who reflected on his time in Champaign and looked ahead to his future in Indianapolis.
