The NCAA released men's basketball attendance figures for 2014-15, with Illinois checking in at No. 15.
In 2015-16, the Illini start the season at a much-smaller arena in Springfield due to construction at State Farm Center. That, however, won't hurt the UI's attendance rankings. Here's the latest from MATT DANIELS:
The Illini should still find themselves ranked in the top 25 nationally for average attendance. Even with four regular season-games moved to Springfield’s Prairie Capital Convention Center because of renovations at State Farm Center. The capacity at PCCC is 7,700, half of what SFC can hold.
“The games in Springfield, for statistical purposes, we do not plan to count them as home games,” UI Sports Information Director Kent Brown said Monday.
