CHAMPAIGN — Mia Rabinowitz hasn't forgotten her last singles loss. Sure, it might have happened 56 days ago, but the 6-1, 6-2 defeat to Northwestern's Maddie Lipp is still fresh for the Illinois freshman women's tennis player.
Rabinowitz followed up that loss — just her fourth this season — with 11 straight wins, including 10 in straight sets.
The Tenafly, N.J., native will put her streak on the line at 4:30 p.m. today in Minneapolis when No. 19 Illinois opens Big Ten tournament action against Nebraska.
"I still think about it pretty much every day," Rabinowitz said about her loss to Lipp.
