COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Nancy Fahey hasn't made time for any more postgame walks around her neighborhood.
Not since the second-year leader of the Illinois women's basketball team needed to cool off following a "unique night" in State College, Pa., where the Illini experienced a two-hour delay at the airport in the aftermath of a 14-point loss at Penn State on Jan. 12.
Fahey has found other constructive ways to blow off steam or clear her head, even as the losses have piled up.
Inheriting a program that hasn't reached the NCAA Tournament since 2003, and was in the midst of a stretch of five losing seasons in the previous six campaigns, Fahey hasn't been able to move the needle since taking over at Illinois in 2017.
