CHAMPAIGN — Jordyn Poulter’s arrival at Illinois has been highly anticipated.
Much discussed.
And a long time coming.
The 6-foot-2 setter out of Aurora, Colo., committed to Kevin Hambly’s Illini in July 2012 between her freshman and sophomore years at Eaglecrest High School, choosing Illinois over UCLA, Wisconsin and Arizona.
At that point, Poulter had already been identified as one of the top setters in the country for her age group. That’s a notion that hasn’t lost any steam and, if anything, has only gained more traction leading up to the start of her college career.
