CHAMPAIGN — Jordyn Poulter was surprised when she heard she’d been named Big Ten Co-Setter of the Year. For one, the Illinois senior had forgotten the conference awards were set to be announced Wednesday. The fact the setter award was split — with Minnesota’s Samantha Seliger-Swenson — also surprised her.
“It’s nice to be splitting with Sam,” Poulter said. “I’ve known Sam for a while and she’s done really great things at Minnesota. Setters don’t get recognized without really solid talent around us. Her and I are both fortunate to have situations where we have very talented people both in our back row and in our attackers.
Poulter is taking stock of journey to top
