Speaking of point guards, former Illini Deron Williams made a rare trip back to the UI campus over the weekend to take part in a golf outing to support Wayne McClain’s Pipeline Foundation. During his visit, the Dallas Mavericks point guard played in a pickup basketball game with current Illini players at the Ubben Basketball facility on Sunday night, alongside former teammate Dee Brown, now an employee of the university.
