COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Illinois didn't exactly struggle moving the ball Saturday at Maryland. The Illini padded their 493 yards of total offense late, but even before that worked the ball regularly into scoring position against the Terrapins.
All that work, though, only led to four Chase McLaughlin field goals until a Reggie Corbin touchdown with 32 seconds to play in the third quarter. McLaughlin was steady — going 4 of 4 with makes from 32, 34, 39 and 26 yards — but turning to the redshirt senior kicker so frequently meant the Illini were trying to match field goals with Maryland's run of touchdowns.
