LINCOLN, Neb. — AJ Bush Jr. finally got to play on Nebraska's home field.
And it went well.
A member of the Cornhuskers in 2014-15, Bush set an Illinois school record for rushing by a quarterback. His 187 yards on 25 carries topped the 174 yards by Juice Williams in a 2008 game against Eastern Illinois.
"It's cool, but I didn't get the most important stat I wanted (the win)," Bush said.
Bush scored three times against his former teammates and threw for another 126 yards.
"It felt good to get out there," Bush said.
