CHAMPAIGN — Oh, they still travel. In bunches.
An estimated 5,000 to 7,000 Nebraska fans will visit C-U this weekend. Or more.
It is a point of pride in the Cornhusker State. Shows how they feel about the program.
“ ’Huskers fans feel like they are a part of it,” said Derek Engelbart, Nebraska Alumni Association associate executive director. “They want to help carry out that tradition as far as being a respectful fan and one that is knowledgeable about the game and one that supports their team.”
First-year Nebraska coach Mike Riley knew about the fan support before he took over at the school.
