CHAMPAIGN — The last time Illinois baseball saw its name flashed across the screen when NCAA tournament brackets were unveiled was in 2015.
Only two players from that team — Ryan Haff and Quinten Sefcik — are still on the Illini roster in 2019. But both redshirted during the memorable 50-win season that produced a Big Ten regular-season championship and the first-ever appearance in an NCAA Super Regional by Illinois.
"This group of players has not been in the NCAA tournament, and I think this program should be consistently in the NCAA tournament," Illinois coach Dan Hartleb said.
