COLUMBIA, Mo. — Former Illinois offensive coordinator Garrick McGee, fired by Lovie Smith after two season, has landed a job at Missouri.
According to reports from Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com, McGee will be an offensive analyst with the Tigers.
The Illinois offense struggled during McGee's two seasons in charge, ranking near the bottom nationally in several key statistical categories. McGee used three starting quarterbacks each season at Illinois. During the 2017 season, he worked with a freshman-dominated offensive line, starting four first-year players at times.
McGee, the former head coach at UAB, took a pay cut to come to Illinois from Louisville.
