The Illinois-Missouri basketball rivalry is healthy again. Thanks to Jeremiah Tilmon's defection from Champaign-Urbana to Columbia. Expect crowds to again fill the Scottrade Center in late December.
The Illinois-Missouri football rivalry, however, is comatose. Or extremely sleepy.
The teams haven't played since 2010. That was the end of a four-game deal at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.
It seems like it was just yesterday, but that was four coaches ago for the Illini. Ron Zook could never beat the Tigers, going 0-4.
Ron Turner couldn't beat Missouri either. His Illinois teams went 0-2 against Missouri, losing a pair of close games in 2002 and '03.
