Former Illini Brian Campbell made a name for himself on Thursday.
Can he keep it up today?
Campbell ended his first round at the U.S. Open tied for fourth after opening with a 3-under 67 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash., the lowest score among amateurs after the first day and only two shots behind co-leaders Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson.
Campbell will tee off momentarily out in the Pacific Northwest, looking for a repeat performance today.
Only one local golfer is out on the course right now.
Former Illini D.A. Points is currently tied for 120th and stands at 5-over.
