COLUMBUS, OHIO — Brandi Beasley tried to will the Illinois women’s basketball team back into Thursday’s game at Ohio State.
The ultra-quick 5-foot-7 guard fed Alex Wittinger in the post for a layup.
Beasley pulled up and knocked down a three-pointer on the fast break.
And later, she knifed past her defender, and sank a leaning jumper in the lane.
Beasley’s 23 points brought the Illini within four points of the Buckeyes with 21 seconds left in regulation.
But, when Beasley fouled out on the subsequent possession — and Carly Santoro, only a 61.
