Bill Cubit said today that the plan is to redshirt Centennial product Jimmy Fitzgerald, a freshman quarterback. Cubit also said Jeff George Jr. would redshirt, too.
Cubit had kudos for his team, which needed two days to beat Kent State as weather interfered on Friday night. The Illini won 52-3 on Saturday.
"Good win," he said. "It was a lot of adversity there. Our kids had to go through a lot of changes. Some kids dressed for three hours."
