CHAMPAIGN — Brad Underwood knew what to expect from Sunday’s game. What to expect from a team that played three times already this week and then traveled more than 4,000 miles and four time zones. That post-Maui Invitational game can be a doozy.
Underwood’s lone Oklahoma State team had a full week between games after its trip to Maui and still only managed to beat Division II Rogers State 101-85 in November 2016. Illinois’ slow start against Mississippi Valley State on Sunday at State Farm Center didn’t come as much of a surprise.
Neither did the Illini’s 86-67 victory in front of an announced crowd of 11,706.
