URBANA — The student government at the University of Illinois is pushing the school to remove all remaining Chief Illiniwek images from campus.
Student-body President Raneem Shamseldin and other students planned to meet today with Chancellor Robert Jones to discuss the resolution, which could also surface as a proposal in the campus Academic Senate.
Approved last week, the resolution calls on the campus to remove all Chief logos and related imagery in UI buildings, "especially employee work spaces," and prohibit their use moving forward.
