It has been an odd offseason for Illinois Basketball.
After a season that featured the most conference wins in program history and a top-seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005, the Illini have lost all three assistant of their coaches; All-Americans Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn committed to the NBA Draft; Giorgi Bezhanishvili is heading to pro-ball; and Adam Miller walked off to LSU.
But let’s focus on those assistants.
Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman took their talents to John Calipari’s Kentucky program in early May. The Illini began refilling the holes by hiring former Illini basketball player Chester Frazier as an assistant coach.
