CHAMPAIGN — Jeremiah Tilmon had to sit and watch as his St. Louis Eagles teammates went 1-4 at Peach Jam last week to mark the end of the Nike EYBL season.
The consensus from the Eagles, according to director Tim Holloway, was they would have fared significantly better with the 6-foot-10, 235-pound center on the court. A big man was their missing piece.
Just like Illinois in the John Groce era. Tilmon wasn’t able to fill that void for the Eagles as he recovered from surgery to his left shoulder after dislocating it in April.
He could for the Illini.
