Jered Cortez is on the move.
The 125-133 pounder, who was slated to take two-time NCAA champion Jesse Delgado's spot will transfer out of Illinois, reports Christian Pyles of Flowrestling.com.
Cortez went 6-2 during his redshirt season with losses to Cory Clark (Iowa) and Caleb Richardson (Penn). The Glendbard North product was a four-time IHSA state champion -- at four different weight classes -- and four-time Fargo All-American, including a Cadet Freestyle and Junior Freestyle National champion.
During his senior year at Glenbard North, he suffered a second-degree tear of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during the semifinals of the DuPage Valley Conference meet.
