Not long after Malcolm Hill missed a layup and a desperation three-pointer in the closing seconds of Illinois’ 60-59 loss to Providence on Wednesday night, assistant coach Jamall Walker approached the star guard in the bowels of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center to offer some reassuring words.
The gist of Walker’s message to Hill was simple: If he’s in a position to win a game like that in the future, he’s got to have confidence in himself that he will.
