That statement is more of an opinion than a fact. I view the football team as a program that is getting on the right track and having a bright future.
I don’t agree with only giving Cubit a 2-year contract but I do agree with retaining his services. I think after what Cubit managed to do this past season, despite only winning 5 games, was an impressive feat.
Cubit had to deal with his head coach getting fired a week before the season. He had to deal with his leading wide receiver being injured the entire year and his leading rusher being out for a quarter of the season.
