One of the side effects of the great win against Nebraska this past weekend is dealing with an injured starting running back.
Josh Ferguson went down in the Nebraska game with a right shoulder injury. He was actually having a really good game when the injury occurred as well. He carried the ball 4 times for 50 yards. In most cases a team losing their starting running back usually folds and loses. That is not how Illinois rolls though.
Backup running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn replaced Ferguson in that game against the Cornhuskers and did a great job.
