According to Shannon Ryan of the Chicago Tribune, Illinois is exploring a two-year deal that would take the interim tag off Bill Cubit.
There are multiple media outlets saying this same news and also adding that Cubit’s fate will be decided on Sunday. This can only mean one thing to me.
If Illinois comes out on Saturday and lays an egg then there will be a coaching change. If the Illini come out and compete, play well, and potentially win the game against a ranked Northwestern team then we keep Cubit around for two more years.
