Freshman wide receiver Desmond Cain was listed as the only Illinois player to make the team and the 2nd year in a row that an Illini has donned this list.
Cain had a solid season for being a freshman. He caught 53 passes for 492 yards and 1 touchdown on the year; which ranks 3rd among all wide receivers on the team.
Cain started this season only totaling an average of just over 27 yards per game receiving. This wouldn’t have made him noticed by anyone, but the final four games was his coming out party.
