This season was more of a challenge for Peoria. They finished with an overall record of 6-3 and needed a win last night to get into the playoffs. Last season was a different story, though. They were one of the most dominant teams in 5A football finishing the regular season 8-1 and clinching a No. 1 seed in the playoffs. They finished with the 5A state title in 2016 and hope to repeat the same fate this year as well.
Last night was a big step forward for Peoria. They beat a Galesburg program that took down the undefeated Lions last year right before the playoffs started.
