This wasn’t a game from the first quarter on. The Illini took control right away scoring a touchdown on their first drive of the game. Akron was able to come back down the field and put up a field goal, though. The defense had me worried when this happened.
I shouldn’t have worried. Illinois would then come back down the field and score on a Ra’Von Bonner 10-yard scamper. This gave the Illini a 14-3 lead. Illinois kept putting pressure on the Akron offense and defense the entire game. The defensive line for the Illini was hounding the Akron quarterback all game long.
