It has been a long time since the Illini have taken down a ranked opponent. But could this be the weekend everything changes?
Here are three areas where the Illini can expose Michigan.
1. Shut down their running attack
This isn’t a great Michigan offense by any means. Their passing game is average, at best, but their running game is below average. They aren’t a good running team.
Michigan currently averages 129.2 yards per game on the ground, which ranks No. 89 in the nation. Their leading rusher, Zach Charbonnet, has rushed the ball 61 times for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns.
