CHAMPAIGN, IL — After the first two weeks of the season, Lovie Smith’s squad owns a 2-0 record, but an injury-stricken roster could pose issues against South Florida.
At his press conference Monday afternoon, Smith informed the media that another wide receiver will be out for the season. In just his first career appearance, Edwin Carter was efficient in his debut, catching two passes for two touchdowns and 34 yards receiving.
Unfortunately, Carter’s second touchdown — one that offensive coordinator Rod Smith described as “the best catch that I’ve ever witnessed” — came at a price.
