The roster depth has fallen short of expectations. Illinois needs more bodies, specifically at the point guard position.
That need was met yesterday for the 2016-17 season. But, it wasn’t because a recruit decided to commit to the program for the upcoming season, though.
Illinois received the news that point guard Jaylon Tate had his domestic battery charge dropped. This means that Tate will be back with the team for his fourth and final season.
As far as the legal situation is concerned, I am happy for Tate to get all of this cleared.
