SEATTLE — Winning streaks this season aren't a rare thing for Illinois volleyball.
But the five consecutive matches the Illini have won couldn't have come at a better time.
The Illini continued their late-season surge on Saturday night at Alaska Airlines Arena, rallying past host and No. 8 seed Washington 25-22, 17-25, 20-25, 25-17, 15-9 in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Illini (23-10) are into the Sweet 16 for the eighth time in the last decade after Saturday night's triumph, the third time this season the Illini have a winning streak of at least five matches.
