The ACC/Big Ten Challenge pairings were revealed on Wednesday and the annual tilt between the two basketball power conferences features a matchup between Illinois and Notre Dame in Champaign.
The Challenge, which is staged annually in early December, will likely be the first game hosted by the Illini in the newly renovated State Farm Center. The Illini will play their first five home dates at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.
Illinois is 7-9 all time in the event, including losses in each of the last two seasons — both on the road.
The meeting between Illinois and Notre Dame will be the first since the 2003 NCAA tournament — a 68-60 Irish win in Indianapolis — and just the third meeting since 1973.
