CHAMPAIGN — Play was suspended with no outs in the bottom of the fourth inning Saturday at Illinois Field with a heavy rain falling, and despite every attempt to get the rest of the game in, it was canceled two hours later.
Officially, Saturday’s series finale between Illinois and Nebraska never took place.
The Illini’s 26-game winning streak — the longest in the nation — remains intact. So, too, does several players’ decision to not cut their hair while they’re winning.
Look at the photos attached to Illinois’ official online roster and you’ll see all clean-shaven players with neatly trimmed hair.
