Today is the 34th birthday of former Illinois quarterback Tim Brasic. A letter winner in 2005 and 2006, the 2001 Chicago Sun-Times High School player of the Year from Riverside-Brookfield High School led the University of Illinois in passing yardage as a junior. Had he been able to add just 21 more yards through the air, Brasic's total (1,979) in 2005 would have made him just the ninth individual quarterback in Illini history to crack the 2,000-yard mark.
In 11 starting assignments for head coach Ron Zook, Brasic completed 61.1 percent of his passes (206 of 377) and completed 11 touchdown passes.
