ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The last time Jeff George Jr. started a game before Saturday afternoon, it happened at an impressive venue: Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.
The game was important at the time — the 2013 Class 6A high school state title game in Indiana — but paled in comparison to what the Illinois quarterback experienced at Michigan Stadium, another renowned facility his well-known father has played in before.
No offense to Carmel (Ind.) High School’s 2013 football team that George’s Indianapolis Warren Central team beat in November 2013, but the squad the younger George faced Saturday was a tad better.
