Hoops program has eye on state tourney

No area big-school prep boys’ basketball teams will take the court at Carver Arena in downtown Peoria on Friday or the Class 3A and 4A state semifinals, marking the sixth straight year no area big-school representative will vie for a state title. The last time a local team made it to Peoria for either the 3A or 4A state tournament? Centennial in 2010, which featured Rayvonte Rice. Rice eventually ended up at Illinois after transferring from Drake, but there are two Class of 2017 prospects in Peoria this weekend who John Groce is keeping close tabs on:
